We wanted to let you know that following flooding caused by Storm Babet, our water recycling centre in Anwick is currently unable to operate.
Protecting the environment is always our top priority, so our teams are working hard to get the site up and running again as quickly as possible and limit any impact to the local environment.
We’re using tankers to take the waste that comes into Anwick to be fully treated at another site before it’s returned to the environment. We’re also supporting a large local food manufacturer to make sure they can continue to operate.
People walking in the area may notices debris around the public footbath. It’s safe to walk through and our teams will be able to clear and clean the area as soon as their higher priority work to fix the site and support the local business is finished.
We’ll be in touch again when we have a further update. People can also find updates via our In Your Area website. They just need to search under their postcode and select the sewerage and drainage tab on the map layers.
