ANWICK PARISH COUNCIL
CHAIR’S REPORT 1ST APRIL 2022 TO END OF MARCH 2023
1. The Community Centre
The Parish Council continues to be responsible for the running and maintenance of the Community Centre. Over the past twelve months we have had regular weekly and monthly bookings for the hall which includes Taekwon, Moy Park, Enbridge Healthcare, St. Edith’s church, Over 60’s and Grace G Laycy, as well as bookings from the residents for various events. This regular income has helped immensely with the upkeep and expense involved for the Centre.
Martin Jacobs has taken in his stride looking after the Community Centre which includes noting any maintenance jobs that are needed and reporting them to the Parish Council. Martin also ensures that the premises are open, clean and heating on when the hall is being used. Thank you Martin for being so dedicated in what you have undertaken and you take such a pride in your work.
2. Grass Cutting
Martin has kept our grass areas neatly cut in the village and has taken on the large job of also cutting the grass in the cemetery, as well as the public footpaths.
The grass cutting in the play park and playing field was undertaken by a local Company. However, the grass cutting exercise was put out to tender and a more reasonable quotation was received for the following year. Thank you CJP Garden Services for your past service.
3. Contributions
A yearly contribution was made to LIVES and also to Anwick Community Events for the ‘Picnic in the Park’ event. They have also put on various fundraising events throughout the year.
4. Purchases
Anwick Parish Council purchased a new strimmer, which will enable Martin to finish off the grass strimming more professionally and quickly. Unfortunately the new dog waste bin sited at the end of River Lane, only purchased last year was vandalised, so a new ‘vandal proof’ bin was purchased and installed.
5. LALC
The Parish Council renewed its membership with them, as they are a governing body who supply us with a wonderful source of information and up to date training sessions when needed.
6. Councillor
Anwick Parish Council were very fortunate to have Cllr. Chris Pollington join the team. Chris is an experienced Health and Safety Officer and has given us his valuable time, advice and experience in ensuring that the Community Centre meets the requirements needed. He also produced a very detailed document covering all the areas that may or may not need attention.

7. Local Councillors
Our thanks goes to Cllr. Mervyn Head District Councillor for NKDC and Cllr. Andrew Key for Lincs Council County. They have provided excellent advice and attendance over the past year and their support and advice have as always been invaluable.
8. Finance
The Parish Council agreed to keep the Precept the same as the previous year, to take into account the rising cost of living that residents have had to endure.
9. Thanks
Our thanks also goes to Richard Coulson, who whenever we ask him to repair or install anything that is required, always carries out the requests voluntarily.
Thanks also goes to Jackie who has in her own time has planted up pots and tubs with flowers and plants, making the village look more attractive.
